  20. Hmmm... Backing up large quantities of digital footage...

  22. The fastest, most reliable and most expensive is probably Exabyte 8mm 
  23. Tape. A friend is backing up to 4mm DDS2 DAT from the Flyer software. 
  24. He's had some problems with tapes that are unrecognizable by the system. 
  25. The Flyer's current backup software is also very slow, Amiback is about 4 
  26. times as fast.

  28. 4mm DAT comes with a slew of precautions as to operating environment, 
  29. temperature, humidity etc. But it's better than nothing! 4GB-8GB drives 
  30. can be had wholesale for about $825, compared to the top of the line 8mm 
  31. Exabytes at about $2500-3000 (maybe more, don't quote me).

  33. Consumables for Exabyte are cheaper though, you can use good quality Hi-8 
  34. video tape at about $10 per tape as opposed to $25 per tape for Data DAT.
